Technical film applications in industry

Film selection starts with the process and the function the material must perform. Product, operating conditions and method of use matter as much as the film name.

Start with the process, not the product name

The same film family can perform very different functions depending on the process. Selection therefore starts not only with the material, but also with how it is used, process requirements, storage and transport conditions, and the expected result.

Unusual application?

You can send a sample, photographs, a drawing or documentation. The better we understand the process, the more precisely we can define the parameters.

Production and technology processes

Film can be part of the production process itself, not only packaging for a finished product.

  • EVA bags and films for batch preparation in rubber processing,
  • EVA in plastics processing and as a bonding layer in laminated structures,
  • films and sheets used as technological interleaves or separating layers,
  • PE films executed for specific process requirements.

Packaging, storage and transport

PE films can protect finished goods, semi-finished products or materials between consecutive production and logistics stages.

  • bags, tubing, centre-fold film, flat film, sheets and interleaves,
  • colouring, printing, perforation and other special executions,
  • protection against dust, dirt and transport-related exposure,
  • PE variants including shrink, embossed and food-application films.

Surface protection

Self-adhesive protective films protect surfaces during production, processing, transport, storage and installation.

  • acrylic, rubber-based and hybrid adhesives,
  • different adhesion levels,
  • matt or glossy films,
  • selection of thickness, width and winding format.

Adhesive and film selection should take account of the actual surface, application time and operating conditions. A practical trial is recommended before serial implementation.

Protection against electrostatic charges

ESD films are used where accumulation and discharge of electrostatic charges may create a risk for the packed product.

  • electronics and subassemblies,
  • components and parts sensitive to electrostatic discharge,
  • packaging, storage and transport.

ESD requirements vary. If a process requires defined electrical properties or compliance with a specific standard, include these requirements in the enquiry.

Aluminium industry

Large-format interleaves

Large PE interleaves and wide EVA rolls used as a separating layer between the mould and the product.

Rubber / automotive

Materials for a production process

Solutions for a large manufacturer of rubber components supplied to the German automotive sector, with emphasis on repeatability of agreed parameters.

Roofing products

Surface protection

Selection of protective film for surface protection through production, storage, transport and installation stages.
